1. Book Three Melody: 400 new words
Notes: I've been thinking about war a lot; what with Trump making actual war against Americans, with his lap-dog Republican Senators keeping quiet as our democracy dies; as white supremacists and evangelicals (far too often the same persons) attempt to stoke a second civil war.

Melody is a story about a girl and a kingdom going to war against exactly the kind of oppression we are seeing today here in America. It's about fighting the soulless--and winning. It's about standing up for the ideals of democracy and truth. Ideals far too many Americans either take entirely for granted, are entirely indifferent about, or who warp into Orwellian fascistic ones in order to sate their desire for dominance and nationalism, two soulless character traits if ever there were any.

I started this story during the romper-room presidency of George W. Bush, who saw fit to attack and slaughter hundreds of thousands of Iraqis on the--forgive the term--trumped-up bullshit claim that they were responsible for 9/11. As I continued to write it, an honorable black man won the presidency in 2008, and then again in 2012. He will, I have no doubts, go down in history as one of the best presidents ever.

But now--Trump. In him we see the true character of far too many millions of Americans. In him we see the disease of soullessness in far too many millions of Americans. In him we see Necrolius Anaxagorius and the Imperium in far too many millions of Americans.

Still, there is hope. These ongoing protests are strong reasons for hope. This nation is teetering both on the precipice of doom--but also on the threshold of revolution that, if won, will herald a rebirth and a renaissance. It's this latter that I pray for every single day, every single motherfucking day! We can depose Trump. We can send the idiot "Boogaloo Bois" back into the shadows where they belong. We can do the same with QAnon and other monstrous gatherings of human scum. We can win. I truly believe that.
