When young people say, "What can we do to change the world?" I say, "What are you doing to change the world?" The world is not going to change itself. One key thing to do is to weave your convictions into your vocation. We're musicians. I didn't choose to be a guitar player. That chose me; it's my calling, I'm stuck with it. But I have opinions about the world. How can I weave those opinions about the world into tonight's set, to make for a meaningful existence for my vocation? How do you do that if you're a carpenter? If you're a journalist? If you're a cameraman? If you're whatever it is you do who's watching this right now? Don't leave who you are and what you believe behind in what you do every day. You stand up against injustice where you live, where you work, where you go to school, in your country, and in your world in order to have a chance to make it a better place.
