Extra notes: I like that over a long, long time, my fan fiction has begun to build up, both here and at Archive Of Our Own. Tens of thousands of words. Many chapters. Lots and lots to read.

I posted the sixth chapter to the second adventure of The Dread Pirate Roberts today at both sites. It makes me happy.

Fan-fiction porn, of course, rules in all fan-fic circles. That's really what probably sixty to eighty percent of all fan fiction is--just some individual giving us his or her sexual fantasy concerning a favorite literary, movie, or television character. I don't have much of a problem with that, really; I just don't find doing that myself all that appealing. I don't read any of that porn fan fiction, either; it's very rare for me to find anything even remotely erotic from authors of any stripe. Most of it is just "hairy pistons," as Robin Williams once famously described most porn. There is very little if no eroticism found in the vast majority of it.

I could go into more detail, but I think I won't.

Knowing how explicit to get is very difficult in any work. There are some fan fics that I'm writing that this problem will eventually manifest--Firefly, for one; Gilligan, for another. There may be more; but those two for sure.

In any event, I appreciate those of you who drop by to read my various fan-fiction projects. I hope by your measure that I do the characters you love so much justice.
