Extra notes: I was born in 1962, which puts me on the cusp of the Baby Boomers and Gen X. I don't claim allegiance to either, but especially the Boomers, who, history will undoubtedly record, will go down as the greediest, most piggish, most vile generation ever.

Overwhelmingly, the Boomers voted for Trump. They voted for fascism. They voted for the destruction of democracy and the evisceration of the environment. They voted for treason and one-party rule. It's all just head-shakingly disgusting to me.

Climate scientists say that we have less than a decade to get our collective shit together, or the Earth is totally fucked, and with it humanity. But do you see this trumpeted nightly on the news? Do you see giant headlines announcing this? No. You don't. And the reason why is that Boomers control all the levers of power and information, and either don't believe global climate change is real ("It's fake news!") or are completely indifferent to it. They've got theirs, after all; and they couldn't give a shit about anyone else, or the damage they've done to the planet in their endless quest for more, more, more.

And for the most part the herds of humanity just mooingly go along with it all.

It's why I keep saying, over and over again, that we are, right now, involved in an existential battle between good and evil. We don't get to ride the fence on this one. Doing so is an evil act in itself, and is choosing the side of indifference and misinformation and propaganda.

It's why blog posts like this one from Daily Kos fill me with hope. The generation that will have to suffer the most aren't about to take this shit lying down. They are making it known that "hurry up and wait" isn't on the table, and they are willing to fight and get mean and dirty if they have to.

I'm with them. I'm with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She takes zero shit from those Trump-supporting Boomers--or anyone else, for that matter. She'll open the whole can of whoop-ass on you, and walk away stronger than ever. She's what this world needs; what the Democrats desperately need; and what the United States absolutely must have more of if this nation is to continue to be a democracy.

We've got less than a decade to save our sorry asses, folks.

Choose a side.
