Extra notes: A week from today this country will decide ... well, if it's going to remain a valid country, or if it's going to destroy itself utterly in a wave of fascistic hatred, intolerance, racism, and violence. That's what's on the ballot in a week.

I'm not the only one saying that. Many people from both sides of the political spectrum are saying that.

So today I'm going to speak to you out there who have made the choice not to vote next Tuesday. By not voting, you are in fact voting, did you know that? By not voting you are in fact voting for that fascism, that hatred, that violence. You are in fact supporting the wholesale destruction of this nation. You are in fact entrenching truly evil, despicable people, and are in fact propping them up into higher positions of power.

Your decision is a profoundly immoral one. It is profoundly self-absorbed and selfish. It is profoundly indecent. Your ignorance of the issues and the monsters working diligently day in and day out to turn America into a one-party dictatorship is no excuse. You cannot plead ignorance, so don't try. Your ignorance by itself is profoundly immoral at this point. That too is a fact.

I believe we have souls, and I believe those souls can be damaged or even destroyed by our actions. Your choice not to vote can be nothing less than a vote to destroy your own spirit. Too many people far less privileged than you are are depending on you to step into the voting booth. Too many people persecuted and marginalized for far too long are too. Too many institutions that uphold our shared democratic values, now under total assault, are depending on you.

The world itself, now baking to death by our indifference and greed, depends on you.

To deny these people, to deny this planet, when the choices are so binary, so black and white, is to deny and destroy your very spirit. If I know anything at all in this life, I know this: you will answer for that, both here and the hereafter.

This blog and my works aren't for you. You aren't welcome here. You should be visiting fascist hate sites. You should be admiring Trump. You should be busily hoarding somewhere. You don't belong here. This blog and my works are for folks who care, and for folks who are willing to fight for a cause greater and higher than themselves--like democracy. Like freedom. Like diversity. Like human rights. Like sustainability. Like the commonweal.

Please do not pollute this digital space with your presence any more. Thank you.
