Special: None today

Extra notes: A day off tomorrow.

My blood sugar recently tested near diabetic levels, which has forced me to make even more adjustments to my diet, including ridding myself of all grains, potatoes, and sugar. Of sugar, Friday was the one day a week where I allowed myself to partake. But now even that is gone.

I adopted a keto diet earlier this year, along with intermittent fasting. I've dropped thirty pounds since this time last year as a result, but my blood sugar remains high. I simply haven't been rigorous enough, that's almost certainly true. But it's also likely that this is a genetic issue as well. That's a much bigger problem, since I was adopted and never knew my biological father.

The other issue is the heart medication I take every day. I've had arrhythmia most of my life; and now, in my fifties, suffer from blood pressure issues as well. The medication is a beta blocker, which kicks up my blood sugar all by its lonesome. I've been working to wean myself off of it most of this year.

I'm not one to bitch about aging. Not usually, at any rate. But today I feel like complaining a little bit.
