Tasks

1. Failure: Off

2. Book Three Melody: 400 new words
Notes: Running into some difficulty, as I have known for a very long time (a dozen years) I will.

3. Love Story: Read-through

4. Ant story: Off

5. Fractalverse: New poem
Notes: A bow to the present moment.

6. The Cheapery St. Heroes: Book Two: Second secondary edit of the chapter three

7. Dread Pirate Roberts: 200 new words
Notes: I'm starting the chapter in the middle of an action sequence begun at the end of the last chapter, which I haven't looked at in months. Pretty challenging.

8. Firefly: Off

Special: None today

Extra notes: We're going to see First Man tomorrow. It looks quite promising.

I remember the moon landings, including the first one with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. I remember the news reports. I was just seven, but it all felt so unbelievable. Because it was.

How far we have fallen since. We have wrapped about ourselves in greedy, solipsistic anti-intellectualism and narcissism. We claim that space exploration is a waste of resources, when in fact the return on investment far outweighs the initial investment, and in multiple areas including medicine and economics. We look up at the stars at night and lick our wounds and plot against our neighbors.

I was sure when I was seven that soon the moon would be colonized. And then Mars. And then ... the limitless stars were the limit. Instead we decided to give all our money to oligarchs and cheap consumables and weapons of mass destruction and the toy soldiers paid to man them.

How far we have fallen.

And now the greatest country on Earth has been taken over by Russians and Republican jerkoffs dead-set on turning our democracy into a one-party dictatorship, one that hates things like exploration, science, reason, diversity, facts.

How very far we have fallen.

It's time for a revolution. I've called for one many times during the nightmare of the past two years. I call for one again. If it calls for fighting in the streets, both I and Kye are ready.
