Pierwalker Log: July 17, 2018

Writing start: 9:39 A.M.
Finish: 1:24 P.M.
Total new words (est.): 600
Edited (est.): 6600 + Montaigne xscribe + RT of two poems

1. Failure: Align edit chapter one
Notes: Oy ve. This is going to be difficult, methinks. I've got a basic idea of the ending of this tale, but perhaps not enough information yet to get there. There may be more align edits coming, and soon.

2. Book Three Melody: 600 new words
Notes: Difficult going today.

3. Watson: Off

4. Love Story: Off

5. Ant story: Primary edit number three of chapter two
Notes: The challenge is to keep from getting bogged down in explanations of how things work.

6. Fractalverse: Read-through of last two poems

7. Firefly: Off

8. Gilligan: Off

Special. Montaigne Transcribe: How Homer is loved throughout history by nation-builders.

Extra notes: We watched HP's The Deathly Hallows Part One last night. I'd been resisting watching it because it's so sad. Once in the middle of it, however, I couldn't keep voicing my total disbelief about how right-wing idiots can't see the undeniable reality that the entire story is a powerful and damning indictment of their worldview, and particularly of their orange pustule fuhrer.

How is it that they miss it?

Take a look at JK Rowling's Twitter feed if you want to be flabbergasted. She continually has to whack these bastards down and block them. It's fairly astonishing.

On a terrifically reduced scale, I too have had to deal with similar issues from similar idiots. How anyone could read Book One of Melody and the Pier to Forever and not come away with its anti-authoritarian stance is beyond me. But some have done just that.

What people don't want to see is just how black and white our current circumstances are. Doing so, after all, requires courage that most suburbans, by their choice to be suburbans, don't possess. It requires standing up and looking past the end of your nose. It requires action, which most refuse to undertake.

I have nothing but disdain for those of you who, in these most dire of circumstances, refuse to see that they are. You are precisely the slugs who refuse to see that many beloved stories like Harry Potter are a total slam against your bigoted, insular, and soulless worldview.
