Tasks1. Failure: 700 new words
Notes: After something like a month-plus of reading through the manuscript, I finally got to add more words today. Good ones, as it turned out.
2. Book Three Melody: Off till June 12
3. Watson: Off till June 5
4. Love Story: Off till June 23
5. Ant story: Off till Thursday
6. Dread Pirate Roberts (2): 600 new words
Notes: Looking for a good place to end this chapter, which is approaching 3K words.
7. T-Bag: 600 new words
Notes: Researching can be a righteous pain. For this story, however, I think it's going to be great fun.
8. Fractalverse: Volume 5: Picked the next 12 fractals (of 36) to go into the new volume.
Extra notes: I may take on a new project, one that I won't list above, as I don't believe it'll be a regular one. I've been thinking a long time about either transcribing both the Tao te Ching and The Art of Worldly Wisdom, or coming up with a new work, possibly derivative, based on both, or as an updated commentary on both. I don't know. I'm going to mess around with it a here in a little bit.
Both works have had a profound impact on my life. Of the two, The Art of Worldly Wisdom has had the largest, though I treasure the wisdom in the Tao te Ching as well. Baltasar Gracian wrote Wisdom; and Lao-tse wrote the Tao te Ching, though he may have been legendary.
I certainly don't claim any great shakes on wisdom, mind you. Life is essentially one mistake after another till you die, and I've made enough for ten lifetimes. That said, I certainly have learned a few things, and these books have helped me in that schooling. I have mentally "translated" these books to modern-day, and when I read them, I often read them in my own way, changing the text to suit my own life. I realize this will piss a lot of you off, who would, were you in the same room with me, shriek, "How dare you! These are world masters! You're a broke author living in an RV down by the river!"
All the better for me.
Good news today: Roseanne has been canceled. Sometimes grotesque maliciousness and ignorance does get its ass kicked.
Kye and I have been watching the first season of Hawaii 5-0 on CBS All Access. We watched the season-ender last night. Holy crap! It looks like we'll be watching season two's premier tonight to find out what the hell happened to McGarrett and his intrepid crew!
