Extra notes: I had a rough day yesterday--my day off. I may take a day off this week to make up for it. We'll see.
The more I learn about the publishing industry, the more of a giant, oppressive scam it reveals itself to be.
I've been such a fool giving my work away. I listened to industry "insiders" like Mark Coker and others, and now I feel I've shortchanged myself, perhaps permanently. One thing I've learned with no doubts whatsoever: free is very expensive.
It hasn't been from lack of research on my part, or curiosity. It's just that I ended up trusting these "insiders" and now I'm paying for it.
It would be helpful to find people who aren't out for their own self-interest. That may not be possible in publishing. This is a vile industry, folks. Make no mistake about it.
