Pierwalker Log: April 11, 2018

Writing start: 10:16 A.M.
Finish: 2:30 P.M.
Total new words (est.): 1500
Edited (est.): 0

Tasks

1. Failure: Off

2. Book Three Melody: Off

3. Watson: 400 new words
Notes: Slow-going.

4. Slum: 600 new words
Notes: Heart-breaking and horrifying. I'm not far from finishing the writing of this, now arguably the darkest of all the Slum visions I've written about.

5. Love Story: Off

6. Rumpel: 500 new words
Notes: Progress! I'm excited to see where this leads me!

7. Ant story: Off

8. Dread Pirate Roberts (2): Off till next Tuesday.

Extra notes: I'm thinking very seriously of never making any published work of mine free ever again at any major North American retailer. Or, let me be more accurate, free for any length of time, say, the four days immediately following that work's release. It's just not worth it to me to go longer than that. In fact, I can say almost definitively now that it never has been.

Free should be reserved for people who 1) are on their toes with respect to my work; and 2) for people who bother visiting this blog. That's it.

I'm interested in sharing my stories, poems, essays, fractal art, and rants with those who want to foster and grow community, connection, and friendship. As I've said before, the so-called connection economy is anything but; and while the value of attention is rising exponentially, the quality of attention is tanking just as rapidly. My wish to find community, connection, and friendship may very well fail. I have to come to terms with that.

My second thought is this: I may start posting chapters of my original works-in-progress. I've really got nothing to lose in doing so.
